Recently I started updating workstations to use Internet Explorer 7 and began noticing a common error on most of them.  After the IE7 install, IE7 kept trying to go to  It also bypassed the Home Page within Internet Options.

After searching the Internet for about 15 seconds, I found the solution!


Add or edit the following registry

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] “RunOnceComplete”=dword:00000001


Now open IE and it should revert to your Home Page!

If this doesn’t work, try this

    Here is microsofts solution for this problem. I tried it and it worked. My registry did not have the “RunOnceComplete” so I could not follow this one.
