How to -hide -remove paragraph -symbol -mark or formatting -symbols -marks in MS Outlook 2007

Here’s how to remove those formatting marks/symbols in Microsoft Outlook 2007…the most common to see is the paragraph mark or symbol.

  1. Open a blank or new e-mail
  2. Click the Microsoft symbol up at the top left of the new e-mail window
  3. Click Editor Options at the bottom right
  4. Click Display on the left side
  5. If you don’t want to see any of the formatting symbols or marks…uncheck Show all formatting marks
  6. If you don’t want to view certain formatting symbols such as the paragraph symbol…uncheck Paragraph marks
  7. Click Ok and that’s it!

You can also use it’s shorcut: Ctrl+Shift+8.

    Hi there,

I have tired the option given above. But my problem is that every time i restart outlook 2007 and I reply/reply all to any particular email the Show Formatting Mark(paragraph mark only) gets enabled automatically and i have to manually uncheck it every time. Is there any registry settings were i can permanently disable it or any other microsoft fix. Thanks

Thank you. Worked perfectly. Do you have any idea why this happened out of the blue?

How do I turn these annoying symbols off in Outlook 2003. I obviously hit something and now the paragraph markers and carriage return markers are all showing up.
