Here’s how to remove those formatting marks/symbols in Microsoft Outlook 2007…the most common to see is the paragraph mark or symbol.
- Open a blank or new e-mail
- Click the Microsoft symbol up at the top left of the new e-mail window
- Click Editor Options at the bottom right
- Click Display on the left side
- If you don’t want to see any of the formatting symbols or marks…uncheck Show all formatting marks
- If you don’t want to view certain formatting symbols such as the paragraph symbol…uncheck Paragraph marks
- Click Ok and that’s it!

You can also use it’s shorcut: Ctrl+Shift+8.
Hi there,
I have tired the option given above. But my problem is that every time i restart outlook 2007 and I reply/reply all to any particular email the Show Formatting Mark(paragraph mark only) gets enabled automatically and i have to manually uncheck it every time. Is there any registry settings were i can permanently disable it or any other microsoft fix. Thanks
Thank you. Worked perfectly. Do you have any idea why this happened out of the blue?

How do I turn these annoying symbols off in Outlook 2003. I obviously hit something and now the paragraph markers and carriage return markers are all showing up.
