How to manually uninstall McAfee Agent. This has to be one of the worst pieces of software to uninstall. If you’re lucky enough to “uninstall” it from Add/Remove Program, it will eventually reinstall, if it’s managed by an ePO server. Uninstalling it as local/domain admin won’t help either. I Google’d the problem and found a no hassle way to manually uninstall McAfee Agent from the command prompt. See below for the steps. Open the command prompt. Type cd\ to get to c:\. Then type cd program files -> cd McAfee or cd Network Associates , whichever works -> cd common framework -> frminst.exe /forceuninstall It will begin uninstalling the McAfee Agent. Once it’s completed, restart the computer and proceed to uninstall any other McAfee program using Add/Remove Programs.

So I did something really stupid yesterday. I deleted an AD account, in order to rebuild it, without backing up the exchange mailbox first. I normally don’t do things haphazardly but that’s how it unfolded. But I digress…. The user’s mailbox disappeared and didn’t appear in the disconnected mailbox view. I literally almost sh*t myself but knew Google would help me out. A quick Google search found a fix to my problem! Log into your Exchange server Open the Exchange PowerShell type and run the following command Get-Mailboxdatabase | Clean-MailboxDatabase Now view the disconnected mailbox view and your deleted mailbox should be there If it’s still not there, you might need to refresh the view That’s it!

After some questioning and watching the user flow through her process, I noticed something interesting. She was unable to print the data in the sheet tabs at the bottom of her spreadsheet. I went to Page setup then the Sheet tab. The Print area section was greyed out. A few Google searches later, I found the answer. Here’s how I resolved her Excel problem. Select Clear Print Area (click image to see full size) Select the below arrow (click image to see full size) Select the appropriate area you desire to print (click image to see full size)

IPsec.sys infected – TDSKILLER won’t remove rootkit So TDSKILLER was unable to remove a rootkit that infected ipsec.sys. After a quick Google search, I found my answer. I had to run SFC /SCANNOW. Here’s how to do it: Open the command prompt Type sfc /scannow in the command prompt and press enter (there’s a space between sfc and /scannow) This will check the integrity of every protected Windows file It might ask for your original Windows installation CD Restart your computer after it’s complete Run TDSKILLER again and ipsec.sys is no longer infected This is how I solved my issue and hopefully it resolves yours…

IE – Internet Explorer crashes when typing in Google search bar / Disable Google autocomplete I’ve noticed this problem for a while but recently it’s been annoying. Annoying to the point that I decided to look for a fix. Maybe it will help you. Problem: IE (Internet Explorer) crashes when typing a certain letter/letters in the Google search bar within Google.com. Cause: In my case, it appeared to be the Google autocomplete feature within Google.com. Fix: Instead of going to www.google.com, try www.google.com/webhp?complete=0. The latter site disables the Google autocomplete feature. The catch is, it only disables Google autocomplete for that IE session/window. If you have Google set as your homepage like I do, then set your home page as www.google.com/webhp?complete=0 instead of just Google.com. As long as you go to your homepage and search, you’ll be set. Seee the picture below.
